Short Biography: Isolde Menges (1893-1976), brother of Herbert Menges (conductor); married Tod Boyd (composer) in 1919. London debut as soloist in 1913; tours included Germany, Holland and the USA. Formed Menges String Quartet in 1931 and participated in war-time National Gallery concerts. Teacher at the Royal College of Music from 1931 and after 1945, devoted her time cheifly to teaching.
