London: Festivals: Proms
Description
A collection of loose and bound programmes for the Proms, beginning with the Queen's Hall Promenade Concerts in 1896, moving through the period of the BBC's takeover in 1927, and the move to the Royal Albert Hall in 1941. The run is not complete, and is most comprehensive prior to 1990; this is an open collection and contains programmes up to 2012.

In addition to the date ranges covered below is a separate box containing Proms syllabuses annotated by Adrian Boult and Malcolm Sargeant which include information regarding ticket sales and rehearsal schedules (in some cases with personnel lists).

Building Information
The CPH collections now form part of the RCM Library. The majority of the concert programme collections are stored off-site so you need to request items before arriving. Requests for programmes are processed on Thursday for delivery to the library the following week. The Library itself is open Monday to Friday during term times and Tuesday to Friday during vacations. We can advise you about our hours when you contact us.
