Description
Percy Marshall Young (1912 – 2004), organist, musicologist and teacher, was organ scholar at Selwyn where he read history, music and English. He was active in both College and University musical events, playing the clarinet in the Cambridge University Musical Society orchestra and piano and/or clarinet in College and CU Music Club concerts, many of which he also organised. Fellow performers at the time included Cyril Rootham, Margaret Field-Hyde, Boris Ord and Robin Orr.
The collection of approximately 100 programmes is contained in five files: four covering Young’s undergraduate and MusB years 1931 – 1934 and one for programmes dating between 1983 and 2001 as follows:
