Description
A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1937. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Queen’s Hall – 26 programmes

Wigmore Hall – 9 programmes

Other London venues:
Royal Albert Hall; Alexandra Palace; Clothworkers’ Hall; Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (2); Palladium; North End Hall, Croydon; Robert Whyte Memorial Hall, Bromley; Francis Holland School; Central Hall, Westminster.

In addition, there are four London Orchestra Guides which list concerts for various venues in London.

Provincial venues:
Town Hall, Worthing (2); Town Hall, Cheltenham (4); Pier Pavilion, Llandudno (2); Pavilion, Bournemouth; International Club House, Cambridge; Albert Hall, Nottingham (6); University Hall, Leeds; Concert Hall, Winter Gardens, Malvern; Music Hall, Shrewsbury; Town Hall, Oxford; King Edward Horse Hall, Windsor; Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone; Dome, Brighton; Floral Hall, Scarborough.

In addition, there is a programme from the Leeds Triennial Festival. There is also a prospectus for the 80th season of Hallé concerts. The venue is not specified, but it is assumed that it was the Free Trade Hall, Manchester.

There is a programme from the Pankridge Farm Music Club, where the venue is not specified. There is also a programme from the Tonbridge School Music Society, where it is probable that the concert took place within the school premises.
