McCann Collection: United Kingdom (1936)
A collection of one box of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1936. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

Queen’s Hall – 17 programmes; 1 prospectus
The prospectus covers the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts.

Grotrian Hall (2); Royal College of Music (3); Leighton House, Holland Park Road; Royal Albert Hall (5); Wigmore Hall (2); Central Hall, Westminster (2); Hippodrome, Golders Green; York House, Twickenham; Grosvenor House; Circle House, Aldgate [Tower Hamlets]; Hampstead Concert Studio (5); Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (2); Central Library Hall, Tottenham (2); Duke's Hall, York Gate [Royal Academy of Music].

In addition, there are three London Orchestra Guides which list concerts for various venues in London.

Manor Barn, Chesham Bois; Redoubt Bandstand, Eastbourne (2); Amersham Grammar School; Regal Cinema, Skipton; Town Hall, Worthing (3); Derby Cathedral (2); Albert Hall, Nottingham (4); Llandudno Pier and Pavilion (4); Bournemouth Pavilion; Town Hall, Birmingham; Paramount Theatre, Liverpool; Central Hall, Edmonton (2; Town Hall, Cheltenham (2).

There is a programme from the Amersham Music Festival, which took place in the Empire Hall, Chesham, and the Amersham Grammar School.

There is a programme from the Oxford Ladies' Musical Society, where the venue is not specified. There are programmes from "Pullens End", "Fingest Grove" and "Plaza Theatre", where the location of the concert venue is not known. There are another ten programmes from concerts with unspecified venues or concerts that formed part of a multi-venue tour.
