McCann Collection: United Kingdom (1928)
A collection of one box/two boxes of programmes from the McCann collection, from 1928. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The collection contains a number of programmes from recitals by Joan Elwes (voice). The contents of the collection are as follows:

Queen's Hall – 16 programmes; 1 prospectus
The collection includes seven programmes from concerts organised by the Royal Philharmonic Society. There is also a prospectus and one programme from Henry Wood Promenade Concerts.

Royal Albert Hall – 10 programmes
The collection includes seven programmes from a series entitled "Special Sunday Concerts".

Coliseum; Aeolian Hall; St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster (2); Kensington Town Hall; Lyndehurst Hall, Warden Road, Kentish Town; Wigmore Hall; St. Angela's, Ursuline Covent, Forest Gate; Borough Polytechnic Institute; Victoria Palace, Victoria Station; Morely College (2); City Temple, Holborn (3); People’s Palace; City of London School, Victoria Embankment; Chelsea Town Hall; Victoria and Albert Museum.

In addition, there is a prospectus for four recitals given at both St. Martin's in the Fields (Trafalgar Square) and All Hallows, Barking-by-the-Tower (Eastcheap, E.C.).

There is a prospectus, one programme and two books of words from the Three Choir Festival, held in Gloucester. Concerts took place in the Cathedral and Shire Hall.

In addition, there are two prospectuses and four programmes from Hallé Concerts. Though the venue is not explicitly stated, these are likely to have taken place in the Free Trade Hall, Manchester. There are four programmes from concerts given as part of various tours, entitled "Village Country Town and School Concerts".
