Description
A collection of 3 boxes of programmes from the McCann Collection. The collection contains a programme from a concert given outside the United Kingdom and was collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

Rome:
Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia – 7 programmes
The majority of programmes are from concerts which took place in the Auditorio di Via della Conciliazione. Other venues include Sala Paolo VI, Vatican City.

Teatro Reale dell’Opera (4 – also called “Teatro dell’Opera”); Chiostro di S. Maria della Pace [Via Arco della Pace, 5]; Auditorio del Gonfalone; Aula Magna, Palazzo della Cancelleria; Teatro Olympico; Basilica dei ss. Cosma e Damiano [Via dei Fori Imperiali]; Auditorium del Foro Italico (2); Chiesa di S. Agnese in Agnone [Piazza Navona] (2); Aula Magna, Scuola Germanica; Accademia d’Ungheria.

There are prospectuses for the “Festival Internazionale Organo” and “International Festival of the Performing Arts” (= Rassegna Internazionale delle Arti dello Spettacolo). There is a prospectus for activities taking place in Rome for one week, entitled “This Week in Rome”. The publication includes details of concerts and opera performances.

Florence:
Maggio Musicale Fiorentino – 4 prospectuses; 2 festival programmes; 61 concert programmes
The prospectuses are from the 39th, 51st, 52nd and 53rd festivals. The concerts programmes are from the 32nd, 33rd and 35th festivals (1969, 1970 and 1972 respectively). The concerts were given at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze.

In addition, there is a prospectus for a series of six concerts given at various churches in Florence.

Milan:

Naples:
Real Teatro di S. Carlo (4).

There is a festival programme from the Settimane Musicali Internazionali. There is a prospectus for the Festival di Musica Contemporanea. There is a programme from a concert organised by the Associazione Napoletana d’Arte in 1922. The venue has not been specified.

There is also a prospectus from a series of concerts organised in Florence and the surrounding area in celebration of the bi-centenary of Mozart’s death. There is a leaflet from a series of concerts held in Florence and Arezzo. There are three programmes (triplicates) from a concert given by the Rossini Symphony Orchestra at an unspecified venue in Pesaro. The concert was given in 1944, under the jurisdiction of the allied forces. There is a leaflet from the Lirica Club in Modena, where the concert venue is not known.
