This collection contains a few programmes from concerts. There is a concert programme for a concert given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hackney Empire. There are also a couple of chamber concert programmes, from both the Hackney Empire and the Greenwich Theatre.
There are a substantial amount of programmes from the Golders Green Hippodrome, which are chiefly from opera performances. A lot of these date from the 1920s and 1930s with a few from the 1950s and 1960s. The programmes reflect different opera companies using the venue in different years. The British National Opera Company programmes date from the 1920s, Covent Garden Opera Company from 1930, and the Metropolitan Opera Company from 1933. The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company presented works by Gilbert and Sullivan from 1950 to 1967. There is also a substantial amount of programmes from the Hackney Empire, the majority of which are from opera performances. There is a substantial amount of programmes from the Haymarket theatre/Theatre Royal Haymarket.
