Collection Title
London: Halls: Empress Hall, Earl's Court (1912-1956)
A collection of 11 programmes from Empress Hall, Earl's Court, from 1912 to 1956. The majority of programmes date from the late 1940s and 1950s.

The collection contains a number of programmes from orchestral concerts and dance performances. The programmes represent London-based ensembles - such as the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Queen's Hall Orchestra - as well as a number of visiting groups. The latter include the Soviet Ensemble (entitled "Soviet Army Ensemble"), the Moscow State Folk-Dance Company and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (concert given on 3/11/1948, with Myra Hess as soloist and conducted by Furtwangler).
