Collection Description

Collection Title
English Provinces: Windsor: Windsor Castle (1843-1999)
A collection of 14 programmes and other items concerts held at Windsor Castle, from 1843 to 1999. Though the majority of items in the collection are photostats from the "Winterbottom Album", the collection includes original programmes from the ninteenth and twentieth centuries.

The earliest item in the collection is a programme from a concert of oratorio items and cantatas, given on 10 February 1843. The next item in the collection is from the baptism of Prince George in 1865, though the programme has been mutilated. There is a full programme and performer's ticket from the Royal College of Music pupil's peformance of Le Roi l'a dit (Delibes) on 26 February 1895.

The collection includes photostats of various programmes from concerts given in the 1880s and 1890s, including programmes from performances given by students of the Royal College of Music.

There are three programmes from 1900 onwards, which are from opera performances or performances of musical-theatrical works.
