Collection Title
English Provinces: Abingdon (1941-1991)
Description
A collection of 16 programmes and prospectuses from Abingdon, from 1941 to 1991.
The collection includes a number of prosepctuses from Radley College. These include items from the series "Radley College Subscription Concerts" and the festival "Summer Festival of British Music".
The collection includes a significant amount of programmes from performances of Handel operas, given by the "Unicorn Theatre Club". Though usually not stated, it is highly likely that these performances took place in the Unicorn Theatre.
Other venues represented in the collection include the Council Chamber. This venue was used for a concert given in 1941 by the violinist Jelly d'Aranyi, and accompanied by Ivor Newton.
