These were two-part concerts of solo and ensemble vocal music. The concert in 1835 was led by Mr T. Cooke and conducted by Mr Goss and included the first performance of a 5-part madrigal by Luca Marenzio (‘Stay, limpid stream, thy winding course’) and a wind octet by Mozart.
The following vocalists are listed as having appeared in both concerts: Master Howe, Messrs Atkins, Bellamy, E. Chapman, Fitzwilliam, Goulden, Hawkins, Hobbs, Horncastle, Parry Jun., Phillips, Sale, Spencer, E. Taylor and Vaughan and Mrs George Wood. Both concerts also featured the flautist Mr Nicholson, the first as a soloist in a Fantasia and the second as the obligato player in a vocal piece.
