Collection Description

Collection Title
André Mangeot: Box 5 (1931-39)
Description
A miscellaneous collection of handbills and programmes for performances featuring the violinist André Mangeot, given at various European venues – predominantly England – between 1931 and 1939, held loosely and arranged chronologically in the fifth of six boxes of material comprising the André Mangeot collection.

The box also includes prospectuses/Official Programmes for the 9th and 10th Festivals of the International Society for Contemporary Music (21-28 July 1931 in Oxford and London and 16-23 June 1932 in Vienna).

Also included in this box is a folder of 27 undated programmes/handbills for performances by the same musician and a folder of press cuttings.

Material is divided into folders as follows.
Folder 1: 1931
Folder 2: 1932
Folder 3: 1933–39

Programmes are listed here by venue, with the English venues followed by European ones. The documentation for the majority of concerts consists simply of a handbill/single-page programme.
