A collection of programmes relating to performances given under the auspices of the Oxford University Musical Club (later the Oxford University Musical Club and Union) between 1898 and 1976, including programmes with notes for the 7th to 23rd seasons of the Public Classical Concerts held at the Town Hall (1898-1914) and handbills for the Meetings held at 115 High Street (Oxford University Musical Club, 1906-1910) and at the Holywell Music Room between (Oxford University Musical Club and Union, 1971-1976).

All documents are held loosely in a single box, ordered chronologically with the various series inter-filed. They are listed here by series.

1. Public Classical Concerts (1898-1914).
A largely complete sequence of prospectuses (with preliminary programmes) and programmes (with words and notes) for the five choral and orchestral performances given each year at the Town Hall, Oxford, as the 7th to 22nd seasons of the Public Classical Concerts. Also, a prospectus with preliminary programmes for the 23rd season (1914–15).

All programmes contain detailed information regarding the performers engaged, including lists of the orchestral ensembles in some instances. Where major ensembles are cited, these are listed below.

From the 14th season onwards, the orchestral concerts were conducted by Hugh Allen. From the 17th season, Dr Allen's Orchestra was supplemented by wind players from the London Symphony Orchestra and, less often from the Queen's Hall Orchestra.

7th season, 1897–98 (nos. 4 and 5): 15 March (Berlin Quartet) and 7 May.

8th season, 1898–99 (missing nos. 1 and 4): 23 November, 14 February and 3 May (Richard Gompertz String Quartet).

9th season, 1899–1900: 8 November (Orchestra of the Royal College of Music, conducted by C. Stanford); 29 November ('Willy Hess' Cologne Quartet); 7 February (Orchestra of the Royal College of Music, conducted by Stanford); 6 March; and 9 May (Kruse String Quartet, two copies).

10th season, 1900–01 (missing nos. 4-5): 8 November (Orchestra of the Royal College of Music, conducted by Stanford); 19 February (Richard Gompertz String Quartet); and 9 March (Kruse String Quartet).

11th season, 1901–02: 24 October (Kruse String Quartet); 28 November; 11 February; 27 February (Richard Gompertz String Quartet); and 30 April (Berlin Quartet).

12th season, 1902–03 (missing no. 1): 27 November ('Willy Hess' Cologne Quartet); 29 January; 24 February (Kruse String Quartet); and 6 May (Berlin Quartet).

13th season, 1903–04: 3 November (London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Frederic Cowen); 26 November (Queen's Hall Wind Quintet, two copies); 4 February (Dr Allen's Orchestra and the Oxford Bach Choir, conducted by Hugh Allen); 25 February; and 4 May (Berlin Quartet).

14th season, 1904–05: 3 November (Dr. Allen's Orchestra and Oxford Bach Choir); 6 December; 8 February (London Symphony Orchestra, the Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society and Oxford Bach Choir with Edward Elgar); 23 February; and 11 May (Berlin String Quartet).

15th season, 1905–06: 1 November (Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society and Oxford Bach Choir); 30 November (Kruse String Quartet); 1 February (London Symphony Orchestra with Fritz Kreisler, violin); 21 February; and 2 May (Berlin Quartet, three copies).

16th season, 1906–07: 15 November (Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society and Oxford Bach Choir and London Symphony Orchestra, three copies plus handbill); 29 November (Berlin Quartet, four copies plus handbill); 31 January (London Symphony Orchestra, two copies); 21 February (two copies, with handbill); 16 May (Kruse String Quartet, two copies).

17th season, 1907–08: 14 November (two copies), 29 November (London Symphony Orchestra), 30 January (two copies), 13 February (Dr Allen's Orchestra), 14 May (Kruse String Quartet, plus handbill).

18th season, 1908–09: 4 November (with handbill), 26 November (two copies of handbill only), 28 January (plus handbill), 4 March (Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society and Oxford Bach Choir, two copies), 20 May (two copies, plus handbill). Note: all concerts this season were given with Dr. Allen's Orchestra and wind players from the London Symphony Orchestra.
