Description
A miscellaneous collection of handbills, programmes and other printed documentation relating to performances given at a range of Oxford venues between 1810 and 1894, held as the second of four scrapbooks.

The volume is ordered as follows:
1. Miscellaneous Oxford venues
2. Undated programmes/programmes without years
3. Oxford Choral Society
4. Oxford Philharmonic Society
5. Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society.

Unless otherwise stated below, documentation for the concerts listed in sections 1 and 2 consists of handbills, many with the words and some containing handwritten annotations.

Bound with the programmes listed in sections 3 to 5 is more general material concerning the relevant institutions, including printed announcements and handbills documenting works being placed 'in rehearsal'.

17-20 June 1844, 3-6 July 1848, 21-24 June 1852 and 3-4 June 1856: Oxford Commemoration Musical Festivals/Oxford Musical Festivals, conducted by Sir Henry R. Bishop (prospectuses with programmes). The festival in 1856 (with lists of the orchestral ensemble, two copies) included the last Oxford appearance by Jenny Goldschmidt Lind.
1 June 1854: Grand Concert conducted by Dr Corfe.

4. Oxford Philharmonic Society
The concerts on 9 March 1876, 5 February 1880 and 15 February 1882 were given atr the Corn Exchange, George Street. The remainder were held in the Sheldonian Theatre. Where no other indication is given below, concerts were conducted by Mr Taylor.

5. Oxford Choral and Philharmonic Society
The concerts of 6 May 1890 and 29 January 1891 were given at the Corn Exchange; the remainder were held at the Sheldonian Theatre. Unless otherwise stated below, all concerts were conducted by Dr J. Varley Roberts.
6 May 1890: Mendelssohn, Elijah (with a list of the orchestral ensemble, plus poster).
29 January 1891: Parry, Judith, conducted by the composer (with a list of the orchestral ensemble, plus handbill and poster).
