Description
A miscellaneous collection of material relating to musical activity in Munich between 1910 and 1991, arranged across three folders within a single box.

The folders are divided as follows:
Folder 1: Blätter der Bayerischen Staatsoper (1978-81, 5 items) and Journal der Bayerischen Staatsoper (1989/90, 2 items).
Folder 2: Multiple venues (1910-91, 18 items).
Folder 3: Unknown venues (1952-81, 9 items).

Folder 1
This contains copies of the Blätter der Bayerischen Staatsoper for July 1978, July and September/October 1979, April/May 1980 and July/August 1981. Also, parts 7 and 8 of the Journal der Bayerischen Staatsoper from the season 1989/90.


Folder 2: Multiple venues
A collection of leaflets, prospectuses and brochures for performances/events given at multiple venues in Munich.

- Wagner-Mozart Festival
July-September 1910, August-September 1912, 1 August-9 September 1924, [no dates] 1928 and 18 July-25 August 1931: each festival included performances given at the Prinzregenten-Theater (Wagner) and the Residenztheater (Mozart). With the exception of the brochure held for the 1928 festival, documentation consists of a simple prospectuses or leaflet: certain of these items include seating plans for the venues.

- Bayerische Staatstheater
25, 26 and 28 December 1932 and 26 April 1933: individual items, each containing the programme for a theatrical and operatic performance, given at Residenztheater and National-Theater respectively.
22 July-30 August 1936: Festspiele der Bayerischen Staatstheater, including performances at the Nationaltheater, Prinzregenter-Theater and Residenztheater (leaflet).

- Miscellaneous events
28-31 May 1927: 15th Deutsches Bachfest (prospectus).
1952–71: 20. Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (brochure).
3-20 September 1963, 2-19 September 1969 and 1-18 September 1970: International Music Competition nos. 12, 18 and 19 (prospectuses)
6-31 July 1985: Generalintendanz der Bayerischen Staatstheater (brochure for performances at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz).
June 1979 and 1990-91: Bayerische Staatsoper (leaflet/brochure).

2-17 September 1952: Concours Musical International des Institutions Radiophoniques de la République Fédérale Allemande (prospectus)
4 October and 28 November 1955 and 4 March 1960: Weber, Der Freischütz/Werner Egk, Die Zaubergeige/Puccini (programmes with biographical notes).
17 April and 4 May 1957: Staatsoper.
19 March 1964, Festsaal der Orangerie: Bayer Volksbildung Verband given by the London Mozart Players, directed by Harry Blech (handbill).
9 February and 29 July 1981: Verdi, Simon Boccanegra/Richard Strauss, Die Agyptische Helena, by the Bayerische Staatsoper (with words, notes, photographs and illustrations).

Building Information
The CPH collections now form part of the RCM Library. The majority of the concert programme collections are stored off-site so you need to request items before arriving. Requests for programmes are processed on Thursday for delivery to the library the following week. The Library itself is open Monday to Friday during term times and Tuesday to Friday during vacations.
