Germany: Düsseldorf (1962-88)
A collection of material relating to concert and operatic performances given at various venues in Düsseldorf between 1962 and 1988, including programme books for 6 operatic productions given at the Opernhaus Düsseldorf by the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (1963–88) and programmes for four performances given by English ensembles in the city (1968–87), held loosely within a box of programmes for German venues A-Z.

The collection also includes editions of Chor-Szene (Magazin des Städtischen Musikvereins) for 1982 and 1983.

18 February 1962 (Busoni, Doktor Faust); 20 November 1963 (Wagner, Siegfried); 4 April 1965 (Beethoven, Fidelio); 26 April 1987 (R. Strauss, Ariadne auf Naxos); 21 January 1988 (Paisiello, Der Barbier von Sevilla); and 23 September 1993 (Gluck, Iphigenie in Aulis). The collection also includes a leaflet prospectus for June–July 1970.

1 November 1968, Rheinhalle: 2. Meisterkonzert given by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Nelson Freire (piano), conducted by Rudolf Kempe.
1 May 1972, Robert-Schumann-Saal: Kammerkonzert by the English Chamber Orchestra, directed by Henryk Szeryng.
19 May 1980, Tonhalle: Heinersdorff Konzerte given by the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Stephen Bishop-Kovacevich (piano), conducted by Gennadij Roshdestwenskij [Rozhdestvensky].
1 January 1987, Tonhalle: Dusseldorfer Symphoniker with London Voices (directed by Terry Edwards) (photocopy).

The majority of the programmes in this collection include programme notes, some with words, biographical notes and/or photographs/illustrations. Many of the items are accompanied by tickets.

Building Information
The CPH collections now form part of the RCM Library. The majority of the concert programme collections are stored off-site so you need to request items before arriving. Requests for programmes are processed on Thursday for delivery to the library the following week. The Library itself is open Monday to Friday during term times and Tuesday to Friday during vacations.
