The first of five boxes within the F. Gilbert Webb collection relating to the Royal Philharmonic Society, containing a miscellaneous collection of programme books for performances given at the Queen's Hall, London, during the 116th (nos. 4-8), 117th (nos. 1-8), 118th (nos. 1-3), 122nd (no.13) and 123rd seasons (nos. 1-3).

Unless otherwise stated below, these were two-part orchestral concerts, with some solo/concertante items, including a number of pieces receiving their first performances in England.

All programmes carry historical and analytical notes (with musical examples) and provide, where appropriate, the texts for the vocal/choral pieces. They also carry lists of the orchestral and choral ensembles and lists of the various Officers and Members of the Society.

A number of programmes carry handwritten annotations, which comment on the performances and on the works performed.
