Description
Programmes for the first six seasons of the Queen's Hall Sunday Afternoon Concerts, presented by the Sunday Concert Society and given by the Queen's Hall Orchestra between 1898 and 1904, held as six volumes (one per season).

All programmes include words and Analytical and Historical Notes (many of which were contributed by Edgar F. Jacques).

Where no other indication is given below, the concerts were conducted by Henry Wood.

Volume 1: 1898-99
18 and 25 September, 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 October, 6, 13 and 20 November, and 4, 11, 18 and 25 December 1898.
1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 January, 5, 12, 19 and 26 February, 5, 12, 19 and 26 March, 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 April, and 7, 14, 21 and 28 May 1899.

Volume 2: 1899-1900
15, 22 and 29 October; 5, 12 and 26 November; and 3, 10, 17 and 24 December 1899.
7, 14, 21 and 28 January; 4, 11, 18 and 25 February; 4, 11, 18 and 25 March; and 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 April 1900.
Also bound in this volume (after the programmes for the Afternoon Concerts) are programmes for the Sunday Evening Concerts, given by the same ensemble on 15, 22 and 29 October and 5, 12 and 19 November 1899. Inserted into the volume is a programme with notes (including a list of the orchestra ensemble) for the Sixteenth Concert of the Hallé Concert Society, given on 15 February 1900 [no venue stated] with Adolph Brodsky (violin), conducted by Hans Richter.

7, 14, 21 and 28 October; 4, 11, 18 and 25 November; and 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 December 1900.
6, 13 and 20 January; 10, 17 and 24 February; 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 March; and 7, 14 and 21 April.
The concerts on 18 November and 6 January were conducted by Arthur W. Payne.
Also bound in this volume is the programme for a Memorial Concert for Queen Victoria, given by the same ensemble and at the same venue on 3 February 1901. This programme includes an introductory essay by Jacques entitled 'Musical Development During the Victorian Era'.
