Description
A collection of programmes and wordbooks for miscellaneous concert and theatrical performances given at various venues in Feltham, Middlesex – principally the National School Room and The Grove – between 1867 and 1883, arranged chronologically within a single bound volume.

This volume also includes a newspaper cutting dated 1875, which provides a review of the third and last of the Choral Union Concerts in Feltham.

Where no other indication is given below, these concerts took place in the National School Room, Feltham.

20 February 1867: Amateur Concert, being a two-part vocal concert, with a chorus at the start of each act and one instrumental solo per part, including a large proportion of English repertory, given by Mrs Squire, Mr A. Goodwyn, Mr Fennessy, Mr Percy F. Beamish and Miss Thupp (vocal) and Miss Helena Pollock (piano), conducted by Mr W. Lauber (with wordbook). This concert was repeated on 21 February 1867.

24 February 1868: Ballad Concert, being a two-part concert of vocal and instrumental music with Messrs Coates, Hart Davies, Goodwyn, Fennessy, Tucker and Twisaday and Mrs Squire and Miss Thrupp (vocal), Mr Zimmermann (violin) and Miss Helena Pollock (piano), accompanied by Mr W. Lauber (programme and wordbook, with an extended handwritten annotation on the reverse of the programme regarding ticketing arranging for an Amateur Concert on12/13 April, see below).

12 April 1869: Amateur Concert, being a two-part concert of vocal and instrumental music given with Mr Zimmermann (violin) and Miss Helena Pollock (piano), with choruses at the beginning and end of each act (programme and wordbook). This performance was repeated on 13 April 1869.

10 February 1870, The Grove, Feltham Hill: A Midsummer Night's Dream, given with 'Mendelssohn's Overture and Incidental Music on the Pianoforte by Signorina Montemerli and Mr W. Lauber' (handbill).

16 December 1873: Feltham Penny Readings No. 6, being a one-act performance of vocal pieces (the majority by English composers) interspersed with readings and a single solo piece for piano (handbill).

20 January 1875, The Grove, Feltham Hill: F.C. Burnand and A. Sullivan, Cox and Box with B.B. Sheridan, The Critic.

3 January 1877, The Grove, Feltham Hill: one-act performance of French and Germany vocal solo and duet repertory, with one piece of each kind for piano and a quartet by Rossini to close (handbill, with no indication of the performers).

20 December 1877, The Grove, Feltham Hill: one-act vocal performance, prefaced by a Haydn piano trio (handbill, with no indication of the performers).

19 December 1879: Concert in aid of St. Catherine's Organ Fund, being a two-part performance of vocal and instrumental repertory given by past and present members of the Cambridge University Musical Society, assisted by 'distinguished amateurs'.

2 January 1883, Feltham Public Hall: A Lecture on Music and Musicians, including extended sections from Mozart, Il Flauto Magico and La Clemenza di Tito and music by Mendelssohn, Rossini and Haydn, given with Mr W. B. Squire (piano), Mr E.T. Duell (harmonium) and Mr Bowen (clarinet) (handbill with translations of the Italian songs).
