Unique Identifier
A miscellaneous collection of printed ephemera relating to the violinist sisters Jelly d'Arányi (1893-1966) and Adila Fachiri (1886-1962), including handbills, programmes and brochures relating to performances given at various English and European venues between 1924 and 1956, held as two parcels within the last of six boxes within the Arányi Collection (1907-56).

The first parcel includes a large number of loose programmes and handbills, relating primarily to a series of performances given by Jelly d'Arányi at venues on the Iberian Peninsula between 8 April and 11 May 1928 and 3 and 15 May 1929. Also included are programmes for performances at various English venues, a prospectus for the Société de l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande 1930–31 season at the Grand Théatre au Capitole, Lausanne, and programmes for performances given in the Saal Ehrbar, Vienna (19 January 1906), in Budapest (28 February 1906) and in the Doelenzaal, Rotterdam (23 January 1936). More detailed information about the Iberian concerts and English performances is provided below.

The second parcel includes various examples of concert ephemera, including receipts, contracts and correspondence for performances given by Jelly d' Arányi. Also, programmes for recitals given at Knox School, Cooperstown, New York (7 March, no year), Princeton University (26 March 1931) and in the First Class Lounge of R.M.S. Berengaria (5 April 1931).

1. Iberian concerts
The majority of these concerts were accompanied by Ethel Hobday and many of those given in 1929 also featured Adila Fachiri. With the exception of those given on 16 and 17 April 1928, which were held at the Teatro de S. Carlos, Lisbon (3 copies for each date), the concerts were held in Spanish venues (see below). In addition to the individual concert programmes, the collection includes a prospectus for Audiciones Sinfonicas, given at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona in May 1928 to mark the Centenario de Schubert (directed by Pau Casals) and a programme for the Orquestra Pau Casals at the same venue on 29 April 1934 (2 copies).
