This collection contains three bound volumes of programmes for concerts given by the Oldham Orchestral Society, the programmes having been owned and seemingly annotated by Frederick Dawson, who assisted the society. The conductor of the Society was William Lawton and the concerts were given in various venues in Oldham. The dates of the volumes are 1895-1901, 1901-1907 and 1907-1913.

Collections Overview
The Henry Watson Music Library is named after Dr. Henry Watson, a renowned composer and teacher born in nearby Accrington. After his death in 1911 he bequeathed the contents of his private library to the care of Manchester City Council. Watson's original collection (some 16,700 volumes) has been supplemented by many important donations and acquisition since and has grown into one of the largest collections of music in any public library.
