Norfolk & Norwich Triennial Musical Festival (1924-1930)
Description
A collection of three volumes of programmes from the Norfolk & Norwich Triennial Musical Festival, 1924 to 1930. The collection contains two bound volumes of eight programmes and one single programme book representing the 1930 festival. The programmes contain analytical programme notes and musical examples. The 1930 festival programme contains many illustrations, including a seating plan and photographs of performers.
The concerts took place at St. Andrew’s Hall, Norwich. The concerts featured the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, conducted by Henry Wood. There were eight concerts per festival, two concerts per day from Wednesday to Saturday. The festivals took place in October.
The concerts consisted of performances of oratorios, opera scenes and orchestral music.

Building Information
The CPH collections now form part of the RCM Library. The majority of the concert programme collections are stored off-site so you need to request items before arriving.
