Thomas Harper: Volume 5 (1853-1881)
A volume of programmes of performances by Thomas Harper. The programmes feature performances by the trumpeter Thomas Harper from 1853 to 1881 – Thomas Harper lived from 1816-1898 – which took place in a variety of provincial venues around the United Kingdom. The volume starts with a programme from the opening of St. George’s Hall, Bradford. The volume contains 51 programmes.

The programmes are largely from concerts where Thomas Harper played obligato trumpet: these concerts include performances of oratorio, sacred music and solo vocal concerts. In addition, some concerts feature Thomas Harper performing on cornet. A number of programmes are from musical performances which were given to commemorate the opening of buildings.

Building Information
The CPH collections now form part of the RCM Library. The majority of the concert programme collections are stored off-site so you need to request items before arriving. Requests for programmes are processed on Thursday for delivery to the library the following week. The Library itself is open Monday to Friday during term times and Tuesday to Friday during vacations.
